Lachuá Lagoon: wildlife paradise

The route is 4 kilometers to reach the lagoon, but halfway there you will find the viewpoint, with a spectacular view of the lagoon. After walking the next 2 kilometers you reach the park in the middle of tall trees and the freshness of the place.

In the place you can camp or rent a cabin with basic amenities, the bathrooms are ecological latrines and there are areas for barbecues that you can use. There is electricity on site and you can bring your own food.

In the lagoon you can take a bath in its crystal-clear waters and spend a reflective time on the rocks enjoying the peace of the place.

To get to the place you can buy bus tickets from different companies or look for private transportation from Cobán to the lagoon. It is a highly tourist destination, so you will find multiple options to get to the place.

This is usually a very busy place for locals, so plan your visit to the lagoon in advance as you may find higher occupancy than usual.
