What you should carry
The entrance fee is Q40, approximately $5 US dollars. The park has very good signage, so you can save a guide if you do not need it, as you will find labels and good maintenance of the park.
The walk in the park is 400 meters towards the forest and if you want to get to the view, which we recommend, you should climb stairs up to the 500 meters of height where the view is impressive.
Comfortable shoes, wet clothing, pure water, sunblock, insect repellent, is all you need. If you wear a professional camera, make sure to carry it well covered by the humid environment.
How to get to Semuc Champey
You can take a bus to Lanquín, a small and quiet village located on the edge of the Semuc Champey Natural Park. From Lanquín you can take several means of transport to get to the entrance of the view, where you can also find numerous hostels to stay here if you wish.
Visiting Semuc Champey is worth it, the view is spectacular from its viewpoint and its magical pools with pleasant surprises when you bathe in them. It is an activity that you can do alone or with family and friends in which you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes that the country has.
