How to get to the volcano?

You have several options to get to Acatenango Volcano. You can go by car, by bus, or by shuttle.

We don't recommend taking the bus much; departure times are not set, and organization can be somewhat unreliable.

To get there on your own by car, you need to reach the village of La Soledad. The place is known as Don Martín's location. This is where you leave your car parked for the duration of your volcano climb.

How long does the volcano tour experience last?

You have to consider that the latest groups will start climbing the volcano at 11 in the morning. It takes about 5 hours at a steady pace, so they arrive around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. It's good to arrive before sunset.
