Visit one of the best museums in Guatemala: The Carlos Mérida National Art Museum
The history of this museum begins in 1935 when it was founded and originally called the National Museum of History and Fine Arts, which brought together the majority of historical and contemporary art and was located at the end of Sixth Avenue by the Temple of Calvary.

Then, due to a demolition, it was transferred to a location in La Aurora, where it is currently located in zone 13.
In this transfer it was decided to separate the historical material from the contemporary and thus give life to the Carlos Mérida National Art Museum, where you can enjoy the work of this renowned author.
How to get to the museum
The museum is located near the La Aurora airport, so plan your visit well, since getting to it may take a little time due to traffic depending on the hours you decide to visit it. We recommend that you visit between 10 am and 12 pm to avoid a bit of traffic and so that you can enjoy the site without many visitors.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and on weekends from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. It is closed on Mondays.
The admission fee is Q50 for foreigners and Q5 for nationals. There are also souvenir shops and food available to ensure you have a pleasant visit.
